Review: Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini

How do you defy destiny?

Helen Hamilton has spent her entire sixteen years trying to hide how different she is--no easy task on an island as small and sheltered as Nantucket. And it's getting harder. Nightmares of a desperate desert journey have Helen waking parched, only to find her sheets damaged by dirt and dust. At school she's haunted by hallucinations of three women weeping tears of blood . . . and when Helen first crosses paths with Lucas Delos, she has no way of knowing they're destined to play the leading roles in a tragedy the Fates insist on repeating throughout history.

As Helen unlocks the secrets of her ancestry, she realizes that some myths are more than just legend. But even demigod powers might not be enough to defy the forces that are both drawing her and Lucas together--and trying to tear them apart.

For a whoppin' near 500 pages, Starcrossed is a fantastic start to what seems like a great series.

Starcrossed was amazing! I stayed up till sometime close to 1 A.M. I looked on the Kindle store, hoping to buy it immediately, only to find out that it doesn't come out till May 2012. :( Sad sauce. Oh well, at least the wait's not too long, but then again, a wait for any book can seem like an eternity. x___x
What are you waiting for this fine Wednesday? :)

IMM hosted by The Story Siren

Hello lovelies! :) I haven't been here for a while! I had so many things occupying me in my daily life, I just forgot about blogging and even reading! I read a good book lately (I had some free time), and it made me realize how much I miss blogging and reading and my blogging buddies and everything.

This week, I got a lot of good books :3 ♥ (Quick note: clicking on the image leads to the Goodreads page)

For Review (courtesy to Netgalley and thanks goes out to each of its respected publishers)

Thoughts

I've finished Innocent Darkness and Spellcaster, both of which I really liked! Review for SC should be coming shortly. I'm attempting to tackle Starcrossed right now, and so far it's really good. I did a mega squeal when I got approved for The Immortal Rules! Seriously, anybody should squeal to pay their respects to the bad-ass author named Julie Kagawa. Dark Kiss seems so good, the cover looks rather enticing. :o

What did you guys get in your mailbox? ^o^
