"This is the way the world ends - not with a bang or a whimper, but with zombies breaking down the back door."

Nineteen-year-old Remy King is on a mission to get across the wasteland left of America, and nothing will stand in her way - not violent marauders, a spoiled rock star, or an army of flesh-eating zombies.

Want to learn how to whip up a Hollowland cake? Here's the ingredients: a badass heroine, zombie butt kicking action, bits of funny humor, a swoon worthy love interest, and a touch of romance!

Remy is the epitome of a badass heroine. I kid you not, she is the girl who keeps on going when there is nothing to keep going for in a world that went to crap. She's had her moments of doubt, but she's dedicated to what she believes in and I love her for that. ♥

I love the whole world that Amanda created in this book. It was so gritty and realistic, so possible that this world could actually be real. I don't want to spoil all the surprising things that happen in Remy's adventures, but they just make your jaw drop!

This book is just OVERFLOWING with all the zombie butt kicking action! Amanda gives all the nasty details, no sugarcoating, with the grotesque zombies' appearance and Remy kicking their ass! Of course Remy isn't the only one kicking butt. Blue, whom I loved dearly in this book, was just as awesome and Lazlo had his moments.

Speaking of Lazlo, I love Lazlo! He's so adorable, but Remy should give him more credit than she does. I wished their romance was more developed in this book, but hey, beggars can't be choosers in this book. Another problem I had with this book was Harlow. Good Lord, she was so annoying and useless throughout the whole book. Never have I read about someone who infuriated me so much...

Jaw-dropping and engrossing, Hollowland is one of the best zombie books I've read in a while. It's definitely a page turner as I finished it in less than a day! (Do you guys even realize how slow I read? I read like a turtle dragging a one-hundred pound ton! So when I finish a book that fast, it was THAT good.)

Omg, yes, yes, and YES! I totally agree with what you've said. This book was brilliant, and Remy is one of my favourite female leads! ^_^

I haven't read this yet. I can't even remember ever even hearing of it until now! I will definitely be adding it to my TBR pile on Goodreads. Now!

Great review! I'm glad you loved it.

Is that the first line of the novel? It's perfect. Love it. Looks like I'm going to have to add this one to the ole TBR pile. Thanks for the rec!
