Waiting on Wednesday: The Mixed Edition

Hosted at Breaking the Spine and original picture credits go to ハツ子

Hey y'all!  So why is this week's WoW mixed?  Mostly because Gianne is dying for a book about a circus and the only thing that comes to my mind to compliment that is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, which came out forever and a day ago.  So this week will be mixed.

What Gianne is waiting for...

Pantomime by Laura Lam

R. H. Ragona’s Circus of Magic is the greatest circus of Ellada. Nestled among the glowing blue Penglass—remnants of a mysterious civilisation long gone—are wonders beyond the wildest imagination. It’s a place where anything seems possible, where if you close your eyes you can believe that the magic and knowledge of the vanished Chimaera is still there. It’s a place where anyone can hide.

Iphigenia Laurus, or Gene, the daughter of a noble family, is uncomfortable in corsets and crinoline, and prefers climbing trees to debutante balls. Micah Grey, a runaway living on the streets, joins the circus as an aerialist’s apprentice and soon becomes the circus’s rising star.

But Gene and Micah have balancing acts of their own to perform, and a secret in their blood that could unlock the mysteries of Ellada.

It sounds absolutely enchanting and captivating! THAT, and I've had a thing lately for books with a whimsical feel about it, especially books with circuses!

What Amelia is waiting for...

Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Is death the end . . . or only the beginning?

Ethan Wate has spent most of his life longing to escape the stiflingly small Southern town of Gatlin. He never thought he would meet the girl of his dreams, Lena Duchannes, who unveiled a secretive, powerful, and cursed side of Gatlin, hidden in plain sight. And he never could have expected that he would be forced to leave behind everyone and everything he cares about. So when Ethan awakes after the chilling events of the Eighteenth Moon, he has only one goal: to find a way to return to Lena and the ones he loves.

Back in Gatlin, Lena is making her own bargains for Ethan's return, vowing to do whatever it takes -- even if that means trusting old enemies or risking the lives of the family and friends Ethan left to protect.

Worlds apart, Ethan and Lena must once again work together to rewrite their fate, in this stunning finale to the Beautiful Creatures series.

Excited is SUCH an understatement here!  With the way Beautiful Chaos ended, I'm practically foaming at the mouth for this to release!

what are you waiting for this week?

Waiting on Wednesday (3)

This meme is hosted by Breaking the Spine.

This week, I'm waiting on Bloodlines by Richelle Mead!

Picture & summary from Goodreads.

The first book in Richelle Mead's brand-new teen fiction series - set in the same world as Vampire Academy. When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning. Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood.

This book sounds so good! Errghh, why must it be another 12 days? :c Well, I haven't finished the VA series yet, so I guess I have some books to pass the time ^_~

What did you guys pick for your WoW?

Waiting On Wednesday (2)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Breaking the Spine.

This week, I'm waiting for The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin and Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

Summary and picture from Goodreads.
Mara Dyer doesn't think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.

It can.

She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.

There is.

She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.

She's wrong.

Summary and picture from Goodreads.
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure-bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.

Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:

Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.

Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Quick thoughts: I can't wait for Mara Dyer to come out (September 27th) because a) it sounds and looks and screams awesome sauce and b) it's near my birthday! Yea-yuuhhh! Half-Blood is the book I'm slightly anticipating more than Mara Dyer. I saw the word forbidden and I was hooked!

Summary and picture taken from Goodreads

Lenzi hears voices and has visions - gravestones, floods, a boy with steel gray eyes. Her boyfriend, Zak, can't help, and everything keeps getting louder and more intense. Then Lenzi meets Alden, the boy from her dreams, who reveals that she's a reincarnated Speaker - someone who can talk to and help lost souls - and that he has been her Protector for centuries.
Now Lenzi must choose between her life with Zak and the life she is destined to lead with Alden. But time is running out: a malevolent spirit is out to destroy Lenzi, and he will kill her if she doesn't make a decision soon.
