Mara Dyer doesn't think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
It can.
She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.
There is.
She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.
She's wrong.
A very vague, yet intriguing summary as well as this gorgeous cover, just who the hell is Mara Dyer?
And to be honest, I have no clue who she is. Half the time, I was a little lost in the book. The writing was beautiful, but the plot was a little messy and it had me lost at times. I wasn't sure whether I was in hallucination mode or real life mode. Uber confusing! The flashbacks were very interesting, however the supernatural element in this book that the flashbacks led me up to wasn't as surprising as I thought it would be. It was thrilling at times, but not the heart-pounding kind of thrill unfortunately. (Darn you, Hype, for making me have high expectations.)
I loved Mara and Noah, they were the most lovable couple ever I've read about lately. Mara's voice was definitely enjoyable to hear. She was intelligent, interesting and not whiny (thank goodness). Noah also may be the most swoon-worthy man I've ever met. He's flirty, fun, snarky, protective, sweet, mysterious, and OMG sexy status. Their moments together were so adorable, I squeal every time without fail whenever I think about them.
The ending is definitely a "WTF" moment. Perhaps one of the greatest surprises in this book was this ending. It was written and played out beautifully, and it makes me want to read the sequel immediately! Although, I'm not too sure if I'm going to buy the sequel next time.
I really do think it sucks that I had to be one of the very lucky few to not like Mara Dyer as much as other people did. Don't get me wrong, this book didn't suck AT ALL, it just wasn't for me.
