You know, when I hear the words, "Hush, hush", I think of peace, tranquility, soft whispers, all that good stuff. This title is MISLEADING. Hush, Hush was everything BUT those things! (Well, maybe except for those soft, sensual whispers from Patch...)


The basic formula for this book is a sexy bad boy, a semi-ditzy heroine, beautiful prose and well written plot, fantastic lore, steamy romantic moments, and of course in most YA paranormal romances, forbidden love (which I adore.)


Let's discuss this, shall we?


Sexy bad boy.


That's right, I'm talking about Patch. He is the embodiment of bad boys worldwide. He's cocky, arrogant, and a horny bastard. A sexy horny bastard. (Did I mention he's sexy?) It took me a while to get used to the name "Patch" though. Seriously, how can you not think of a pirate going "ARRGH SHIVER ME TIMBERS!"? He grew on me though. ♥


A semi-ditzy heroine.


She's smart, she's got them As, but where is the common sense?! "Oh GOOD LORD" is what I kept screaming in my head every time Nora made a decision against her better judgment. Surprisingly, she isn't that annoying, so she's not on my poop list.


Beautiful prose and well written plot, as well as fantastic lore.

The writing was awesome. It was fluid-like, non-monotonous, and addictive; all characteristics of a grand master story teller. The plot was insanely amazing! Just when you predict something's going to happen, something entirely different does. Brownie points for you, Becca! 

I really liked the mythology in this book. Even though I already knew what the paranormal aspect of this book would be (come on, it's written ALL OVER the cover), Becca turns something cliche into something different (a good different).


Steamy romantic moments.


The sexual tension between Patch and Nora is HOT. Hot like "Parents, keep yo' kids away from this fire!" hot. Becca definitely knows how to write some sensual, heart thumping moments.

Um, yeah, if you read it, I think you understand what I mean *blushing furiously*.

In all, this book was incredible. I already read Crescendo, and I can't wait to get started on my copy of Silence.
